Bookmaker critical after shop row

Another story from the BBC:

A betting shop manager is on a life-support machine after a customer attacked him in a row over a bet.

Police said the 53-year-old collapsed after being assaulted at Pagebet in Pelton, County Durham, on Monday night.

He was taken to Darlington’s University Hospital, where his condition is described as critical.

A man in his mid-30s was arrested on suspicion of wounding with intent following the incident. He has since been bailed pending further inquires.
