Treasurer stole from cricket club

Another story from the BBC:

A cricket club almost folded because of thefts by its new treasurer who had developed an internet gambling habit, Mold Crown Court has heard

Unemployed Graham Owen, 25, did not pay a penny into the accounts after he was appointed treasurer of Buckley Cricket Club in Flintshire in April 2008.

He admitted stealing £2,000 of between April and October 2008.

Owen, from Buckley, was ordered to carry out 300 hours unpaid community work, and pay back the money he stole.
