An armed robber who stole cash from a Nottingham bookmaker’s shop dropped his bag when a customer gave chase.

The masked man threatened a woman cashier at Coral in Victoria Road, Netherfield at 1500 GMT on 24 March but left empty-handed.

Det Con Laura Clarke from Nottinghamshire Police said it was a "terribly frightening and shocking ordeal" for the cashier.

The man left the cash due to the "brave actions" of a member of the public.
