Ladbrokes plans to cut 263 jobs

Another story from the BBC:

Betting firm Ladbrokes has outlined plans to close its Aintree call centre with the loss of up to 263 jobs.

The company said it would offer redeployment and relocation opportunities to minimise redundancies.

Ladbrokes is discussing the proposals with employee representatives at the Merseyside site, including the Usdaw union.

A company spokesman blamed competition from offshore operators for a fall in revenue.
