A Sussex man has been charged with robbing two Brighton betting shops in raids which happened just minutes apart.
Two Betfred shops in Lewes Road and Hollingbury Place were targeted at about 1000 GMT on Tuesday.
A 53-year-old man was charged on Wednesday with two counts of robbery.
He spent the night in custody and was due to appear at Brighton and Hove Magistrates on Thursday, Sussex Police said.

Almost £1,000 has been stolen in two betting shops raids within minutes of each other.
The robberies happened in Brighton at about 1000 GMT on Tuesday at Betfred shops in Lewes Road and Hollingbury Place.
In each incident a man walked into the shop and threatened staff.
In the first robbery, staff were threatened with a long-bladed knife. In the second, the man mentioned a knife but never produced it.

The department store group Debenhams has appointed Nigel Northridge to replace its current chairman, John Lovering, who is leaving the company.
Mr Northridge is currently chairman of the betting chain Paddy Power, as well as holding directorships at a clutch of other companies.
The 53-year-old is a non-executive director at both the travel firm Thomas Cook and the car dealer Inchcape.
He is also an independent director at the temporary power provider Aggreko.

A robber who tried to steal from a betting shop at knifepoint was thwarted when staff pushed a chair in his path.
South Wales Police said he pulled out a kitchen knife and demanded cash at Corals in High Street, Swansea.
The two staff on duty refused, so the man tried to go round the counter via an open entrance hatch, which was when the chair was pushed in his way.
He fled empty-handed and was last seen walking in the direction of an Argos store at about 2125 GMT on Monday.

A man has been arrested in connection with an armed robbery at a Brighton betting shop.
Sussex Police said a 57-year-old man had been detained but they were keeping "an open mind" as to the identity of the thief.
A man threatened staff in Ladbrokes in Market Street with a handgun on Wednesday before escaping with cash.
Detectives said a man was arrested on Wednesday evening and was currently being questioned about the raid.

A robbery at a bookmakers in Kent is being linked to five others being investigated by police.
Kent Police said a robbery in Strood on Monday was likely to have been carried out by the same man who targeted other betting shops in Strood and Snodland.
The latest target was William Hill in Strood’s High Street. Nearby Coral bookmakers was targeted on Wednesday 13 January.
Three other robberies took place in November and December 2009.

A robbery at a bookmakers in Kent is being linked to several others being investigated by police.
Staff were threatened at Ladbrokes, in Holborough Road, Snodland, on Friday night by a man, carrying an item in a plastic bag, who demanded cash.
The man, who was 6ft tall, slim, and wore a full-face balaclava, left with cash, and walked to the High Street.
Police believe he is the same man who has carried out robberies at four other bookmakers in the same area.

An armed robbery has been carried out at a betting shop in Stoke-on-Trent.
A masked offender jumped over the counter at Coral on Waterloo Road. He spoke briefly to the shop assistant and stole cash from the tills, police said.
The offender, who was wearing dark clothing, fled the scene on foot following the raid which happened at about 1910 GMT on Monday.
There were a number of customers in the shop at the time, but nobody was injured during the robbery.
