Armed man in shop robbery

Another story from the BBC:

A man who demanded money from a Hove betting shop and threatened staff with a knife is being sought by police.

The man entered Ladbrokes betting shop on Station Road in Portslade on Monday at about 1830 GMT and demanded money.

He was handed several hundred pounds by staff, before running towards the railway station and New Church Road.

The suspect is described as white 5ft 10in (1.77m) tall and was wearing dark clothing and a shiny anorak. His face was covered by a hood.

Bookies staff threatened in raid

Staff at a Cardiff bookmakers have been threatened by a robber who made off with what police say was a large quantity of money.

The man entered the Ladbrokes on Splott Road, Splott, at about 1910 GMT on Friday.

South Wales Police are looking for the man.

They have appealing for any witnesses or anyone who could have information to contact Roath CID on 029 2022 2111, or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.

Man arrested over armed shop raid

Another story from the BBC:

A man has been arrested in connection with an armed robbery at a Brighton betting shop.

Sussex Police said a 57-year-old man had been detained but they were keeping "an open mind" as to the identity of the thief.

A man threatened staff in Ladbrokes in Market Street with a handgun on Wednesday before escaping with cash.

Detectives said a man was arrested on Wednesday evening and was currently being questioned about the raid.

Robber targets fifth betting shop

Another story from the BBC:

A robbery at a bookmakers in Kent is being linked to several others being investigated by police.

Staff were threatened at Ladbrokes, in Holborough Road, Snodland, on Friday night by a man, carrying an item in a plastic bag, who demanded cash.

The man, who was 6ft tall, slim, and wore a full-face balaclava, left with cash, and walked to the High Street.

Police believe he is the same man who has carried out robberies at four other bookmakers in the same area.
